Madison Shortes is a passionate and experienced music educator who specializes in voice and piano instruction. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music in Ohio, with concentrations in choir, vocal jazz, and percussion. Madison is currently completing her Master of Music in Choral Conducting at Texas State University and serves as the director of A Cappella Unlimited, a Sweet Adelines chorus based in Central Texas.
She has taught music at all grade levels and most recently served as Head Choir Director and Piano Teacher at Cedar Creek High School in Bastrop, TX, where she led award-winning choirs and directed musicals such as Wizard of Oz Jr., In the Heights, and Six: Teen Edition.
With over a decade of barbershop quartetting experience, Madison brings a deep love of ensemble singing to her teaching. She is the 2023 Sweet Adelines International Rising Star Quartet Champion with her group Cosmic and has previously earned top national placements with other quartets.
Madison creates an encouraging, fun, and student-centered environment where musicians of all ages and skill levels can thrive. She’s excited to share her love of music and help each student reach their full potential at Curious Chords Music Studio.
