Thad Noland (BM Saxophone Performance) - Thad Noland is a pianist and saxophonist from West Monroe, LA, where he became involved with music at 2 years old in children’s choir at church & playing on the pianos and organs that always seemed to be around. At age 12, he began playing the alto saxophone through the school band program. Thad attended University of Louisiana at Monroe, studying classical saxophone, & received his BM in Music Performance in 2002. In 2009 he moved to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music, where he studied jazz saxophone, receiving a 2 Yr Professional Certificate in 2011. Thad has worked as a freelance musician since age 17. He has performed on many different instruments: piano, electric piano, organ, synthesizers, alto, tenor, baritone saxophone, & clarinet. Throughout his career he has performed a wide variety of genres: rock, r&b, country, funk, jazz, and many others. Thad has 3 years of experience teaching piano and saxophone to students of all ages. During that time he developed a joy of teaching music, which he has brought with him to Curious Chords. Thad lives in Plum Creek with son, Sam.
