It all started when…


"Azariah Reese is from San Antonio, Texas. He is currently studying with Dr. S. Ames Asbell at Texas State University, pursuing a bachelors degree in viola performance. Azariah has been apart of the Texas State String Project from Spring 2018 to Spring 2019. In String Project he co-taught heterogeneous string ensembles, and gave private lessons to String Project students. Azariah also has a small studio with students from San Marcos, New Braunfels, and San Antonio TX,  ranging from middle school to adult students. Azariah is a violist with the Texas State Symphony Orchestra. Since 2017,  he has performed both contemporary and, historical works such as Adam Schoenberg’s Finding Rothko, Stephanie Ann Boyd’s House, of Fountains, Tchaikovsky's 5th Symphony, Saint-Saëns: Danse Bacchanale, Dvorak's 8th Symphony, Beethoven's 5th Symphony, and an assortment of others. He has also been a part of the Texas State Opera Orchestra playing Mozart's The Magic Flute, and Engelbert’s Hansel and Gretel. In addition to curricular ensembles, Azariah is active on and off campus performing with various studio, chamber, and orchestral ensembles. "
