Jillian Brackett, soprano, is currently a graduate student at Texas State University pursuing her Masters degree in Vocal Performance. She studies voice under the well-known soprano, Cheryl Parrish. Before moving to San Marcos, Jillian was a minister to children and preschool for three years at a church in the Houston area. In her spare time there, she taught private voice, fundamentals in piano and acoustic guitar instruction to all ages. She also began voice lessons with Michael Walsh, who taught her classical singing in a “healthy manner” suitable to her voice. Earlier, she received her Bachelor’s of Music in Vocal Performance in winter of 2013 from East Texas Baptist University. While at East Texas Baptist University, Jillian was heavily involved in musical productions such as Into the Woods, opera productions such as Hansel and Gretel, and a part of the top ensemble called University Singers. She has been a part of many church choirs and community theater productions during the holiday seasons. Today, Jillian continues to follow her passion in music and education, in hopes to perform and teach the future singers of the world.
