Claire Kibodeaux is currently a student at the University of Texas in pursuit of a masters degree in speech, language, and voice therapies, with a focus in healthy vocal technique and maintenance. In addition to her academic studies, for 7 years, she has undertaken vocal training from many well established coaches, emphasizing artistry in different genres of music including classical, pop, musical theatre, singer/songwriter, and jazz, as well as piano and jazz theory. Claire has supplemented her vocal training over the years with continuous involvement in choral programs such as the Gospel Expressions Association at Texas State University, various women’s and mixed choirs, and as a freelance vocalist in many local and touring musical theatre productions such as the Grand Ol’ Christmas Show. She is vocally proficient in a wide range of musical genres, and she has worked professionally in the greater Texas area with Americana bands, including Blue Water Highway and Hogan Sullivan & The West Texas Teardrops. Though she is first and foremost a vocalist, Claire does solo work on guitar, and has recently ventured into a number of disparate genres such as funk, R&B, looped acapella, neo soul, soul, and motown. She is also currently the lead vocalist of a Hill Country based jazz quintet, the Blue Jazz Faction, where she has performed for numerous corporate events, weddings, private events, and other various venues. Claire comes from a strong, music oriented childhood, and she finds joy in teaching her passion of music to others.
